2020 for JESUS - Day 229: JESUS is THE LORD... THE LORD CHRIST...

Colossians 3:18-25

Family Relations

^“Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in THE LORD. 

¹⁹ Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. 

²⁰ Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to THE LORD. 

²¹ Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.

²² Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing THE LORD. 

²³ Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for THE LORD rather than for men, 

²⁴ knowing that from THE LORD you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is THE LORD CHRIST WHOM you serve. 

²⁵ For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.”

2020 for JESUS - Day 228: JESUS is GOD... THE LORD... LOVE... THE PEACE... THE WORD... THE LORD JESUS...

Colossians 3:12-17

^“So, as those who have been chosen of GOD, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 

¹³ bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as THE LORD FORGAVE YOU, so also should you. 

¹⁴ Beyond all these things put on LOVE, which is the perfect bond of unity. 

¹⁵ Let THE PEACE OF CHRIST rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 

¹⁶ Let THE WORD OF CHRIST richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to GOD. 

¹⁷ Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of THE LORD JESUS, giving thanks through HIM to GOD THE FATHER.”

2020 for JESUS - Day 227: JESUS is GOD... CREATOR... CHRIST IS ALL AND IS IN ALL...

Let's just be CHRISTians!

 Colossians 3:5-11

^“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: 

sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 

⁶ Because of these, the wrath of GOD is coming.

 ⁷ You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 

⁸ But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: 

anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 

⁹ Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 

¹⁰ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its CREATOR. 

¹¹ Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, 

but CHRIST IS ALL, AND IS IN ALL.”  

2020 for JESUS - Day 226: JESUS is CHRIST... GOD... CHRIST JESUS...

Each morning, 

I begin my morning devotional

by writing these arrows and letters 

in my daily journal:   

RC-

Raise with Christ;

SAC-

Seeking Above where Christ is;

SMA-

Setting my Mind on things Above;

DLHC-

I have Died and my Life is Hidden with Christ;

CLAG-

when Christ who is my Life Appears, 

then I will appear with Him in Glory!

.
That is one of the ways I begin my day, reminding myself of these 4 verses and the commitment I made to CHRIST, as described in Romans 6.

Colossians 3:1-4

“Therefore, if you have been raised up with CHRIST,

keep seeking the things above, where CHRIST is, 

seated at the right hand of GOD. 

² Set your mind on the things above,

not on the things that are on earth. 

³ For you have died and your life is hidden with CHRIST in GOD. 

⁴ When CHRIST, WHO is our life, is revealed (appears), then you also will be revealed (appear) with HIM in glory.”

Romans 6 

"...We are those who have died to sin; 

how can we live in it any longer? 

3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into CHRIST JESUS were baptized into his death? 

4 We were therefore buried with HIM through baptism into death in order that, just as CHRIST was raised from the dead through the glory of THE FATHER, we too may live a new life.

5 For if we have been united with HIM in a death like HIS, we will certainly also be united with HIM in a resurrection like his. 

6 For we know that our old self was crucified with HIM so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 

7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

8 Now if we died with CHRIST, we believe that we will also live with HIM..." 

NOTE:  It takes a personal decision to choose JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR and be united with HIM through immersion into a watery grave!

   

2020 for JESUS - Day 225: JESUS is CHRIST... THE HEAD... GOD...

Colossians 2:16-23

“Therefore, no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 

¹⁷ things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to CHRIST. 

¹⁸ Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, 

taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, 

¹⁹ and not holding fast to THE HEAD, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from GOD.”

^“If you have died with CHRIST to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 

²¹ “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 

²² (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men? 

²³ These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.”

2020 for JESUS - Day 224: JESUS is CHRIST... IN HIM ALL FULLNESS OF DEITY DWELLS IN BODILY FORM... HE IS THE HEAD OVER ALL RULE AND AUTHORITY... GOD...

Colossians 2:8-15

^“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to CHRIST. 

⁹ For IN HIM ALL THE FULLNESS OF DEITY DWELLS IN BODILY FORM,

¹⁰ and in HIM you have been made complete,

and HE IS THE HEAD OVER ALL RULE AND AUTHORITY;

¹¹ and in HIM you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of CHRIST; 

¹² having been buried with HIM in baptism, in which you were also raised up with HIM through faith in the working of GOD, who raised HIM from the dead. 

¹³ When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, HE made you alive together with HIM, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 

¹⁴ having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and HE has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 

¹⁵ When HE had disarmed the rulers and authorities, HE made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through HIM."

Colossians 2:1-7

You Are Built Up in Christ

”For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face, 

² that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of GOD’s MYSTERY, THAT IS, CHRIST HIMSELF, 

³ IN WHOM ARE HIDDEN ALL THE TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE.

 ⁴ I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument. 

⁵ For even though I am absent in body, nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in CHRIST.

⁶ Therefore, as you have received CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, so walk in HIM,

 ⁷ having been firmly rooted 

and now being built up in HIM

and established in your faith, 

just as you were instructed, 

and overflowing with gratitude.”
