Colossians 1:24-29

Paul’s Labor for the Church

²⁴ "Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to CHRIST’s afflictions, for the sake of HIS body, which is the church. 

²⁵ I have become its servant by the commission GOD gave me to present to you THE WORD OF GOD in its fullness— 

²⁶  THE MYSTERY that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to THE LORD’s people. 

²⁷ To them GOD has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of THIS MYSTERY, which is CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY.

²⁸ HE is THE ONE WE PROCLAIM, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in CHRIST. 

²⁹ To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy CHRIST so powerfully works in me.”

ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN CREATED THROUGH HIM AND FOR HIM... HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS... IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER... HE IS THE HEAD OF THE BODY, THE CHURCH... HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD... GOD WAS PLEASED TO HAVE ALL HIS FULLNESS DWELL IN HIM... RECONCILING TO HIMSELF ALL THINGS, WHETHER ON EARTH OR THINGS IN HEAVEN... PEACEMAKER THROUGH HIS BLOOD, SHED ON THE CROSS... GOD... CHRIST... THE HOPE HELD OUT IN THE GOSPEL... THE GOSPEL...

Colossians 1:15-23

The Supremacy of the SON OF THE GOD

¹⁵ THE SON is

THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, 

THE FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION.  

¹⁶ For IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED:   

things in heaven and on earth,

visible and invisible,

whether thrones or

powers or

rulers or

authorities; 

ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN CREATED

THROUGH HIM AND FOR HIM.

 ¹⁷ HE IS BEFORE ALL THINGS, and

IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER.    

¹⁸ And HE IS THE HEAD OF THE BODY, THE CHURCH; 

HE IS THE BEGINNING AND

THE FIRSTBORN FROM AMONG THE DEAD,

so that in everything HE might have the supremacy. 

¹⁹ For GOD WAS PLEASED TO HAVE ALL HIS FULLNESS DWELL IN HIM, 

²⁰ and through HIM, TO RECONCILE TO HIMSELF ALL THINGS, WHETHER ON EARTH OR THINGS IN HEAVEN, 

by MAKING PEACE (PEACEMAKER) THROUGH HIS BLOOD, SHED ON THE CROSS.  

²¹ Once you were alienated from GOD and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 

²² But now he has reconciled you by CHRIST’s physical body through death to present you holy in HIS sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 

²³ if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from THE HOPE HELD OUT IN THE GOSPEL. This is THE GOSPEL that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.”

Colossians 1:1-14

 Paul, an apostle of CHRIST JESUS by the will of GOD, and Timothy our brother,

2 To GOD’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters in CHRIST:

Grace and peace to you from GOD OUR FATHER.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

3 We always thank GOD, THE FATHER of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, when we pray for you, 

4 because we have heard of your faith in CHRIST JESUS and of the love you have for all GOD’s people— 

5 the faith and love that spring from THE HOPE STORED UP FOR YOU IN HEAVEN  and about which you have already heard in the true message of THE GOSPEL 

6 that has come to you. In the same way, THE GOSPEL is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood GOD'S GRACE. 

7 You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of CHRIST on our behalf, 
8 and who also told us of your love in THE SPIRIT.

9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask GOD to fill you with the knowledge of HIS will through all the wisdom and understanding that THE SPIRIT gives, 

10 so that you may live a life worthy of THE LORD and please HIM in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of GOD, 

11 being strengthened with all power according to HIS glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, 

12 and giving joyful thanks to THE FATHER, WHO has qualified you to share in the inheritance of HIS holy people in the kingdom of  LIGHT. 
13 For HE has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of THE SON HE LOVES, 
14 in WHOM we have REDEMPTION, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS."

Philippians 4:10-23

God’s Provisions

^10 “But I rejoiced in THE LORD greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. 

¹¹ Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 

¹² I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 

¹³ I can do all things through HIM WHO strengthens me. 

¹⁴ Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my affliction.

¹⁵ You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of THE GOSPEL, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; 

¹⁶ for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. 

¹⁷ Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account. 

¹⁸ But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to GOD. 

¹⁹ And MY GOD will supply all your needs according to  HIS riches in glory in CHRIST JESUS. 

²⁰ Now to our GOD and FATHER be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

²¹ Greet every saint in CHRIST JESUS. The brethren who are with me greet you. 

²² All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

²³ THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST be with your spirit.”

“Therefore, my beloved brethren whom I long to see, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in THE LORD, my beloved.

² I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in THE LORD. 

³ Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of THE GOSPEL, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of LIFE.

⁴ Rejoice in THE LORD always; again I will say, rejoice! 

⁵ Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. THE LORD is near. 

⁶ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to GOD. 

⁷ And the peace of GOD, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in CHRIST JESUS.

⁸ Finally, brothers and sisters, 

whatever is true, 

whatever is honorable, 

whatever is right, 

whatever is pure, 

whatever is lovely, 

whatever is of good report, 

if there is any excellence and 

if anything worthy of praise, 

dwell on these things. 

⁹ The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and THE GOD OF PEACE will be with you.”

Philippians 3:17-21 

¹⁷ "Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. 

¹⁸ For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of CHRIST, 

¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. 

²⁰ For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for A SAVIOR, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST; 

²¹ WHO will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of HIS GLORY, by the exertion of THE POWER THAT HE HAS EVEN TO SUBJECT ALL THINGS TO HIMSELF.”

Philippians 3 

Goal of Life

”Finally, my brethren, rejoice in THE LORD. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.

² Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision; 

³ for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the SPIRIT OF GOD and glory in CHRIST JESUS and put no confidence in the flesh, 

⁴ although I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more: 

⁵ circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee; 

⁶ as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless.

⁷ But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of CHRIST. 

⁸ More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing CHRIST JESUS MY LORD, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain CHRIST, 

⁹ and may be found in HIM, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in CHRIST, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH COMES FROM GOD ON THE BASIS OF FAITH, 

¹⁰ that I may know HIM and 

the power of HIS resurrection and 

the fellowship of HIS sufferings, 

being conformed to HIS death; 

¹¹ in order that I may attain to THE RESURRECTION from the dead.

¹² Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by CHRIST JESUS. 

¹³ Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 

¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of

GOD in CHRIST JESUS. 

¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, GOD will reveal that also to you; 

¹⁶ however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.”
