20/20 Focus on JESUS

20/20 Focus on JESUS
Each day we need to keep our eyes focused on JESUS - 20/20! I am sorry that I did not continue this blog into the beginning of 2021. Nine months passed by before I was convicted to return to this blog and encourage us to look at JESUS, with clear vision, via a daily scripture reading. Yellow highlights are names/descriptions of JESUS that we'll add to the list on the right.

2020 for JESUS - Day 92: JESUS is CHRIST... GOD... LORD WHO JUDGES... LORD... LIGHT... GOD...

Today, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, maybe not as many people are playing "April Fools' Day" jokes as usual.  Good!  Yet, it got me to thinking about this scripture...

1 Corinthians

1 "This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of CHRIST and as those entrusted with the mysteries GOD has revealed.

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.

My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the LORD WHO JUDGES me.

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the LORD comes. HE will bring to LIGHT what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from GOD.

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other.
For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have begun to reign—and that without us! How I wish that you really had begun to reign so that we also might reign with you!
For it seems to me that GOD has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like those condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to human beings.
10 We are fools for CHRIST,
but you are so wise in CHRIST!
We are weak,
but you are strong!
You are honored,
we are dishonored!
11 To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.
12 We work hard with our own hands.
When we are cursed, we bless;
when we are persecuted, we endure it;
13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly.
We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world
—right up to this moment. "

2020 for JESUS - Day 91 - JESUS is LIFE... ETERNAL LIFE... THE TREE OF LIFE... THE WORD... LORD GOD... GOD'S SON...

Yesterday, GOD put on my heart to take pictures of trees along my neighborhood walk. Many of you know of my interest in looking at trees from a spiritual perspective.
As I walked around "the loop" I took pictures of 38 trees that were near me, by the sidewalk. I’ve included a few of those here. So many transformational lessons to be learned! Here are a few:

1) Physical: Most of these trees show no sign of life, yet there is definitely life ready to come forth soon... with the right amount of sunshine and water...
Spiritual: When a person does not show signs of spiritual life, patiently provide SONshine and the Fountain of LIFE...

2) Physical: Several of these trees were hanging on to leaves and/or fruit from the past.
Spiritual: To make way for a new season of spiritual transformation, are there things from the past that need to be gotten rid of?

3) Physical: There are so many different sizes and shapes of trees. Don't compare! Each one has it's own potential/purpose.
Spiritual: Just because I can't see the size and shape of someone's spiritual journey in no way means that it's not there. GOD knows!

Notice the first tree pictured above. That was created by my friend Tracy!   That tree was created, with patient love, via writing out many Bible scriptures about LIFE.
This morning, as I continued my meditation on JESUS... ETERNAL LIFE... THE TREE OF LIFE! Here are a few scriptures that I meditated on:

Genesis 2:9
"The LORD GOD made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden HE placed the TREE OF LIFE and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."

John 1:1-5
"In the beginning the WORD already existed.
    The WORD was with GOD,
    and the WORD was GOD.
HE EXISTED IN THE BEGINNING with GOD.
GOD created everything through HIM,
and NOTHING WAS CREATED EXCEPT THROUGH HIM.
THE WORD GAVE LIFE TO EVERYTHING THAT WAS CREATED,
and HIS LIFE BROUGHT LIFE TO EVERYONE.
THE LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS,
and the darkness can never extinguish it. "

John 3:36
And anyone who believes in GOD'S SON has ETERNAL LIFE. Anyone who doesn’t obey THE SON will never experience ETERNAL LIFE but remains under GOD'S angry judgment.”

John 5:26
The FATHER has LIFE in HIMSELF, and HE has granted that same LIFE-GIVING POWER to HIS SON."

John 5:29
"...and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience ETERNAL LIFE, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment."

Revelation 2:7
“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the SPIRIT and understand what HE is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the TREE OF LIFE in the paradise of GOD."

Revelation 22:14
"Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the TREE OF LIFE."

2020 for JESUS - Day 90: JESUS is GOOD MAN... THIS MAN... TRUE... NO UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IN HIM... THE MAN... THE CHRIST...

Yesterday, as around the globe, christians came together to remember JESUS, many did it at a distance... online... virtually... in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic...

Our church family was again in the book of John.  Later in the week, I plan to share here some of the rich treasures that were spoken of yesterday.

John 7 - DailyVerses.net

Today, we'll read John 7:1-39...

After these things JESUS was walking in Galilee, for HE was unwilling to walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill HIM.
Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was near.
Therefore HIS brothers said to HIM, “Leave here and go into Judea, so that YOUR disciples also may see YOUR works which YOU are doing.
For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If YOU do these things, show YOURSELF to the world.”
For not even HIS brothers were believing in HIM.
So JESUS said to them, MY time is not yet here, but your time is always opportune.
The world cannot hate you, but it hates ME because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.
Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because MY time has not yet fully come.”
Having said these things to them, HE stayed in Galilee.
10 But when HIS brothers had gone up to the feast, then HE HIMSELF also went up, not publicly, but as if, in secret.
11 So the Jews were seeking HIM at the feast and were saying, “Where is HE?”
12 There was much grumbling among the crowds concerning HIM; some were saying, “HE is a GOOD MAN”; others were saying, “No, on the contrary, HE leads the people astray.”
13 Yet no one was speaking openly of HIM for fear of the Jews.
14 But when it was now the midst of the feast JESUS went up into the temple, and began to teach.
15 The Jews then were astonished, saying, “How has THIS MAN become learned, having never been educated?”
16 So JESUS answered them and said, MY teaching is not MINE, but HIS WHO sent ME.
17 If anyone is willing to do HIS will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of GOD or whether I speak from MYSELF.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but HE who is seeking the glory of THE ONE who sent HIM, HE is TRUE, and there is NO UNRIGHTEOUSNESS IN HIM.
19 Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill ME?”
20 The crowd answered, “YOU have a demon! Who seeks to kill YOU?”
21 JESUS answered them, “I did one deed, and you all marvel.
22 For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.
23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with ME because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath?
24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
25 So some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not THE MAN WHOM they are seeking to kill?
26 Look, HE is speaking publicly, and they are saying nothing to HIM. The rulers do not really know that this is THE CHRIST, do they?
27 However, we know where THIS MAN is from; but whenever THE CHRIST may come, no one knows where HE is from.”
28 Then JESUS cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, You both know ME and know where I am from; and I have not come of MYSELF, but HE who sent ME is true, WHOM you do not know.
29 I know HIM, because I am from HIM, and HE sent Me.”
30 So they were seeking to seize HIM; and no man laid his hand on HIM, because HIS hour had not yet come.
31 But many of the crowd believed in HIM; and they were saying, “When THE CHRIST comes, HE will not perform more signs than those which THIS MAN has, will HE?”
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about HIM, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize HIM.
33 Therefore JESUS said, For a little while longer I am with you, then I go to HIM WHO sent ME.
34 You will seek ME, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
35 The Jews then said to one another, “Where does THIS MAN intend to go that we will not find HIM? HE is not intending to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks, is HE?
36 What is this statement that HE said, You will seek ME, and will not find ME; and where I am, you cannot come’?”
37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, JESUS stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to ME and drink.
38 He who believes in ME, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow RIVERS OF LIVING WATER.’”
39 But this HE spoke of THE SPIRIT, whom those who believed in HIM were to receive; for THE SPIRIT was not yet given, because JESUS was not yet glorified.

2020 for JESUS - Day 89: JESUS is LORD... ROCK... REDEEMER... GOD OF HOPE... PEACE...

Before we move on to John 7, let's stop and consider something this LORD's Day.  We are in the middle of the Coronavirus Pandemic.  People are concerned... worried... searching... JESUS is the answer!  Here are a few things that the shepherds of our church family have reminded us of this week:
