2020 for JESUS - Day 273: JESUS is GOD... JESUS CHRIST... THE POWER OF GOD... WISDOM... GOD'S WISDOM... THE HIDDEN WISDOM... THE WISDOM... THE LORD OF GLORY... THE LORD... CHRIST...

 

1 Corinthians 2:1-16

2 “And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of GOD. 

² For I determined to know nothing among you except JESUS CHRIST, and HIM crucified. 

³ I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 

⁴ and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of THE SPIRIT and of power, 

⁵ so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on THE POWER OF GOD.

⁶ Yet we do speak WISDOM among those who are mature; a WISDOM, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; 

⁷ but we speak GOD’S WISDOM in a mystery, THE HIDDEN WISDOM which GOD predestined before the ages to our glory; 

⁸ THE WISDOM which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified THE LORD OF GLORY; 

⁹ but just as it is written,

‘Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard,
And which have not entered the heart of man,
All that God has prepared for those who love Him.’

¹⁰ For to us GOD revealed them through THE SPIRIT; for THE SPIRIT searches all things, even the depths of GOD. 

¹¹ For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of GOD no one knows except THE SPIRIT OF GOD. 

¹² Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but THE SPIRIT WHO IS FROM GOD, so that we may know the things freely given to us by GOD, 

¹³ which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by THE SPIRIT, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

¹⁴ But a natural man does not accept the things of THE SPIRIT OF GOD, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 

¹⁵ But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 

¹⁶ For who has known the mind of THE LORD, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of CHRIST.”

2020 for JESUS - Day 272: JESUS is OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST... CHRIST... GOD... THE POWER OF GOD.. THE WISDOM OF GOD... CHRIST JESUS... THE LORD...

 

1 Corinthians 1:10-31

^10 “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 

¹¹ My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 

¹² What I mean is this:

One of you says, ‘I follow Paul’; 

another, ‘I follow Apollos’; 

another, ‘I follow Cephas^’; 

still another, ‘I follow CHRIST’.

¹³ Is CHRIST divided?

Was Paul crucified for you?

Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 

¹⁴ I thank GOD that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 

¹⁵ so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 

¹⁶ (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 

¹⁷ For CHRIST did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of CHRIST be emptied of its power.

¹⁸ For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of GOD. 

¹⁹ For it is written:

‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
    the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’

²⁰ Where is the wise person? 

Where is the teacher of the law?

Where is the philosopher of this age? 

Has not GOD made foolish the wisdom of the world? 

²¹ For since in the wisdom of GOD the world through its wisdom did not know him, GOD was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 

²² Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 

²³ but we preach CHRIST crucified: 

a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 

²⁴ but to those whom GOD has called, both Jews and Greeks, CHRIST – THE POWER OF GOD and THE WISDOM OF GOD. 

²⁵ For the foolishness of GOD is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of GOD is stronger than human strength.

²⁶ Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 

²⁷ But GOD chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; GOD chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 

²⁸ GOD chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 

²⁹ so that no one may boast before him. 

³⁰ It is because of him that you are in CHRIST JESUS, who has become for us wisdom from GOD —that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 

³¹ Therefore, as it is written: ‘Let the one who boasts boast in THE LORD’.”

1 Corinthians 1:1-9

1 Paul, called to be an apostle of CHRIST JESUS by the will of GOD , and our brother Sosthenes,

² To the church of GOD in Corinth, to those sanctified in CHRIST JESUS and called to be HIS holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST—THEIR LORD AND OURS:

³ Grace and peace to you from GOD OUR FATHER and THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Thanksgiving

⁴ I always thank my GOD for you because of HIS GRACE given you in CHRIST JESUS. 

⁵ For in HIM you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— 

⁶ GOD thus confirming our testimony about CHRIST among you. 

⁷ Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST to be revealed. 

⁸ HE will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. 

⁹ GOD is faithful, WHO has called you into fellowship with HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Romans 16:1-27

 “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea; 

² that you receive her in THE LORD in a manner worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever matter she may have need of you; for she herself has also been a helper of many, and of myself as well.

³ Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in CHRIST JESUS, 

⁴ who for my life risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; 

⁵ also greet the church that is in their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is the first convert to CHRIST from Asia. 

⁶ Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you. 

⁷ Greet Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners, who are outstanding among the apostles, who also were in CHRIST before me. 

⁸ Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in THE LORD. 

⁹ Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in CHRIST, and Stachys my beloved. 

¹⁰ Greet Apelles, the approved in CHRIST. Greet those who are of the household of Aristobulus.                                                        

¹¹ Greet Herodion, my kinsman. Greet those of the household of Narcissus, who are in THE LORD. 

¹² Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, workers in THE LORD. Greet Persis the beloved, who has worked hard in THE LORD. 

¹³ Greet Rufus, a choice man in THE LORD, also his mother and mine. 

¹⁴ Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the brethren with them. 

¹⁵ Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. 

¹⁶ Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of CHRIST greet you.

¹⁷ Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. 

¹⁸ For such men are slaves, not of OUR LORD CHRIST but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting. 

¹⁹ For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. 

²⁰ THE GOD OF PEACE will soon crush Satan under your feet.

The grace of OUR LORD JESUS be with you.

²¹ Timothy my fellow worker greets you, and so do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.

²² I, Tertius, who write this letter, greet you in THE LORD.

²³ Gaius, host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer greets you, and Quartus, the brother. 

²⁴ The grace of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you all. Amen.

²⁵ Now to HIM WHO is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of JESUS CHRIST, according to THE REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY which has been kept secret for long ages past, 

²⁶ but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of THE ETERNAL GOD, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of FAITH; 

²⁷ to THE ONLY WISE GOD, through JESUS CHRIST, be the glory forever. Amen.”

Romans 15:23-33

^23 “But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to visit you, 

²⁴ I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while. 

²⁵ Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of

THE LORD’s people there. 

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among THE LORD’s people in Jerusalem. 

²⁷ They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings. 

²⁸ So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this contribution, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way. 

²⁹ I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of CHRIST.

³⁰ I urge you, brothers and sisters, by OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST and by THE LOVE OF THE SPIRIT, to join me in my struggle by praying to GOD for me. 

³¹ Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the LORD’s people there, 

³² so that I may come to you with JOY, by GOD’s will, and in your company be refreshed. 

³³ THE GOD OF PEACE be with you all. Amen.”

2020 for JESUS - Day 268: JESUS is GOODNESS... THE GRACE OF GOD... CHRIST JESUS... THE GOSPEL OF GOD... GOD... CHRIST... THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST... THE GOSPEL...

 

 
Romans 15:14-22

^14 “I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of GOODNESS, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another. 

¹⁵ Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of THE GRACE GOD gave me 

¹⁶ to be a minister of CHRIST JESUS to the Gentiles. HE gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming THE GOSPEL OF GOD, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to GOD, sanctified by THE HOLY SPIRIT.

¹⁷ Therefore I glory in CHRIST JESUS in my service to GOD. 

¹⁸ I will not venture to speak of anything except what CHRIST has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey GOD by what I have said and done— 

¹⁹ by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the SPIRIT OF GOD. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST. 

²⁰ It has always been my ambition to preach THE GOSPEL where CHRIST was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. 

²¹ Rather, as it is written:

“Those who were not told about HIM will see,
    and those who have not heard will understand.”

²² This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.”

 

 

 

2020 for JESUS - Day 267: JESUS is CHRIST... HOPE... THE GOD WHO GIVES ENDURANCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT... CHRIST JESUS... OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST... GOD... A SERVANT OF THE JEWS ON BEHALF OF GOD'S TRUTH... THE LORD... THE ROOT OF JESSE... THE GOD OF HOPE... JOY... PEACE...

 

Romans 15:1-13

“We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. 

² Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. 

³ For even CHRIST did not please HIMSELF but, as it is written:

‘The insults of those who insult you have fallen on ME.’ 

⁴ For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have HOPE.

⁵ May THE GOD WHO GIVES ENDURANCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT   give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that CHRIST JESUS had, 

⁶ so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify THE GOD AND FATHER of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. 

⁷ Accept one another, then, just as CHRIST accepted you, in order to bring praise to GOD. 

^{8 "}For I tell you that CHRIST has become A SERVANT OF THE JEWS ON BEHALF OF GOD’s TRUTH, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed 

⁹ and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify GOD for HIS mercy. As it is written:

'Therefore I will praise YOU among the Gentiles;
    I will sing the praises of YOUR name.'

¹⁰ Again, it says,

'Rejoice, you Gentiles, with HIS people.'

¹¹ And again,

'Praise THE LORD, all you Gentiles;
    let all the peoples extol HIM.'

¹² And again, Isaiah says,

‘THE ROOT OF JESSE will spring up,
    ONE WHO will arise to rule over the nations;
    in HIM the Gentiles will HOPE.’

¹³ May the GOD OF HOPE fill you with all JOY and PEACE as you trust in HIM, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of THE HOLY SPIRIT.”
