2020 for JESUS - Day 36: JESUS EXISTED BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE...HE HOLDS ALL CREATION TOGETHER... HEAD OF THE CHURCH...

Colossians 1:17-20

17-  "HE EXISTED BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, and HE HOLDS ALL CREATION TOGETHER.

18-  CHRIST IS ALSO THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH, WHICH IS HIS BODY; HE is THE BEGINNING, SUPREME OVER ALL WHO RISE FROM THE DEAD. So HE is  FIRST IN EVERYTHING. 


19- For GOD in all HIS fullness was pleased to live in CHRIST, 

20- and THROUGH HIM GOD RECONCILED EVERYTHING TO HIMSELF.  HE made PEACE ... BY MEANS OF CHRIST'S BLOOD ON THE CROSS."

2020 for JESUS - Day 35: JESUS is GOD'S SON... IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD... FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION... IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED...

• GOD's SON
• the IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD
• the FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION
• IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED

Colossians 1:15-16

15-  "The SON is the IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the FIRSTBORN OVER ALL CREATION.  

16-  For IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED:  things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through HIM and for HIM."

2020 for JESUS - Day 34: JESUS is THE SON HE LOVES... REDEMPTION... FORGIVENESS OF SINS...

This week, our church family is reading the New Testament book of Colossians.  I plan to share names and descriptions of JESUS from my readings - bold and highlighted.

Colossians 1:13-14

13- "For HE has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the SON HE LOVES,

14- in WHOM we have REDEMPTION, the FORGIVENESS OF SINS."

2020 for JESUS - Day 33: JESUS is KING OF THE JEWS... JESUS CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED...ATONING SACRIFICE...MERCY, PEACE, & LOVE...

 

Day 33 is also 02/02/2020 or the palindrome: 02022020 

It got me thinking that JESUS sent out HIS disciples 2 x 2... 

Then, I thought, "What are some of the New Testament verses that are 2:2?"  

Here are a few with their beautiful names and descriptions of JESUS:

Matthew 2:2 - 

"Where is the ONE WHO has been born KING OF THE JEWS?  We saw HIS star when it rose and have come to worship HIM."

1 Corinthians 2:2 - 

"For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except JESUS CHRIST and HIM CRUCIFIED."

Philippians 2:2 -

"...then make my JOY complete by being 

• like-minded, 
• having the same love,

2020 for JESUS - Day 32: JESUS is RIGHTEOUS...OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS...WISDOM FROM GOD... HOLINESS... REDEMPTION...

The apostle John wants us to know about the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS...

1 John 2:28-29

28- "And now, dear children, continue in HIM, so that when HE appears we may be confident and unashamed before HIM at HIS coming.

29- "If you know that HE is RIGHTEOUS, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of HIM."

 The apostle Peter also wants us to know about the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS...

1 Peter 2:24

"'HE HIMSELF bore our sins' in HIS body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for RIGHTEOUSNESS; 'by HIS wounds you have been healed.'"

The apostle Paul wants us to know about the RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS, too...

1 Corinthians  1:30

"It is because of HIM that you are in CHRIST JESUS, WHO has become for us WISDOM FROM GOD - that is, OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS,  HOLINESS, and REDEMPTION."

2020 for JESUS - Day 31: JESUS is ETERNAL LIFE!

1 John 2:24-26

24-  "As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you.  If it does, you also will remain in the SON and in the FATHER.  

25-  And this is what HE promised us - ETERNAL LIFE.

26-  I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray." 

2020 for JESUS - Day 30: JESUS... THE WILL OF GOD...

Yes!  THE WILL OF GOD!  That would be JESUS!   


1 John 2:15-17

15-  "Do not love the world or anything in the world.  If anyone loves the world, love for the FATHER is not in them.

16-  For everything in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - comes not from the FATHER, but from the world.

17-  The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does THE WILL OF GOD lives forever."
